#Enjoy # Life #Create #Life There is one thing hidden inside that helps every person enjoy life and create new life. It is called in Hunyuan medicine the pure Dao heart. Think about it! Some people wake up in the morning, look out of the window, take a deep breath and say “wow! I am so happy.” It doesn’t matter if they are happy about the ability to breath, or if some positive things have been planned for today, they are happy! There are other people who, regardless of what is planned for today, feel down. When this becomes a daily reality then people and doctors alike view it as pathological psychological state. This person is sick and needs help; drugs, psychology sessions and other interventions. But where-from would a person feel themselves unhappy? Hunyuan medicine makes a distinction between a “human heart” and a “Dao heart”. Dao heart is the life spark every person receives when they are conceived. It is the reason why every healthy baby upon birth instinctively wants to breathe. It is because they want to live and this comes from the Dao heart instinct and spark. However, just having an instinct to live is not enough, the fetus in the womb also develops a human heart, a heart with desires “likes” and “dislikes”. This heart helps the baby, child and later adult know when they need more energy and when they have enough. When there is not enough oxygen they inhale and when oxygen is enough they exhale. When food is needed they are hungry and when they ate their stomach full they are not. These are the standard human heart actions. They instruct the person what to do and when to do it. The human heart has a great problem. Despite its attempts to keep life going by regulating “likes” and “dislikes” the natural ability to extend life is limited and diminishes every day. The human heart then has a gradual tendency to become more active, more aggressive, more emotional, desiring more and more in order to keep life. From a human heart that is very close to the Dao heart and just want to treasure life, it becomes a selfish heart that desires more and now miscalculates what is really needed for life. When the person’s “dislike” grows larger, Hunyuan medicine calls this an enlarged dichotomy and a wounded warrior. The human heart, originally a life protecting warrior, now miscalculates and hurts. It is not a good functioning warrior anymore. So why a person would wake up in the morning and feel happy whereas another wakes up and feel miserable? The answer lies with a human heart that either has remained close to the Dao heart or otherwise has turned to become a selfish heart. It is impossible for a person to see their own heart. The heart is controlling their reality. How could one assess their heart for being selfish (damaging life) or pure (promoting life)? When heart dichotomy enlarges the person, even though in a constant personal strife and self-inflicted misery, feels that they are better than everybody else. They think that they are doing things to benefit their self. They cannot look at themselves and realize that their own situation is actually not so good. This is the nature of the beast, the worse the dichotomy becomes the more it locks the person into a position where they refuse to help themselves. See, for example, drug addicts, gamblers, alcoholics and other persons with addictions. People suffering from these self-inflicted miseries normally convince themselves that they are doing exactly the correct thing for them. They think that they help themselves. The truth is far from that. The bullet proof method to evaluate if one needs to help their selfish heart become a human heart is rather simple: ‘when one wakes up in the morning, regardless of circumstances, do they feel happy or not?’ When one is not 100% happy then searching for the Dao heart is the correct thing to do. Hunyuan Xinfa (heart method) teaches how to retrain the heart to change back from a selfish heart to a human heart; a heart that is very close to the Dao heart. The process is of self-reflection. One reflects every day on their thoughts and actions, not obsessing but simply reflecting briefly. Reflecting on every situation every day for many days, months and years changes the heart’s game plan. First, one becomes familiar with their own dichotomy, then they can anticipate it and then they can shorten inappropriate long discharges of “dislikes”. Disliking things and people becomes less and less part of one’s daily reality. So ask yourself a simple question: when a person wakes up in the morning are they unhappy because they like everybody and everything, or because they dislike many people and many things? A selfish heart simply by default dislikes many things. A human heart, to the contrary, intuitively likes everybody and everything. When improper or hurtful things are done by others then the human heart thinks positively how it can help them to make it better. The selfish heart, in the same situation, thinks how to hurt back, how to get back at other people, how much “they” are the ones not good. The Xinfa self-reflection work is truly a humbling process. When a person thinks all day good thoughts, how to help and benefit the world, then their heart is a human heart. But then for one moment, when they see someone cutting the forest or doing some other evil action, just for one second they think how to harm those people, how to say bad things about them, post something on Facebook to slander them, their heart has immediately turned to a selfish heart. But then they wake up in the morning unhappy and they know that they need to try harder today. Otherwise the hateful heart will never resolve, it will always remain unhappy in the morning. When other people do evil things the human heart needs to feel and think how to help those people become better, not how to hurt them. If one can reach this state of heart then there is simply no way to wake up in the morning unhappy. If one wakes up happy every morning then they enjoy life and they create life every single moment. This state of heart follows a daily diligent effort, it is not a matter of luck nor is it to the mercy of hormones or other physical misfortune. Every person can train themselves how to live, enjoy life and create more life. Infertility can change to fertility, chronic diseases can change to a healthy state, a sad person can become happy again. Practically speaking to practice Xinfa one does not need much, a piece of paper and a pencil. Create a table such as the following: mark with an X every day’s thoughts and actions and evaluate them for being proper or not. Do not record in detail what has happened. An X means that a person reflects briefly and then let it go. Practitioners of the Xinfa ledger find themselves in present all the tine, not thinking about the past or dreaming of the future. Creating life happens right now!
Deciding accurately how much is ‘proper’ and how much is ‘not proper’ will develop with time. The general definition for being proper is that a thought and an action increase life for one self and for everyone else. Thinking bad thoughts about others, slandering others (even if it is for the name of what I believe is “goodness”) is always improper. Diligent practice will yield great rewards! Couples suffering from infertility often encounter the difficult question “when are infertility treatments enough?” Hoping to have a child combined with the hope that ‘another IVF or fertility drugs cycle will be successful this time’ can be addictive. True! IVF cycles and fertility drugs sometimes do end up with success, but often they don’t and this pain can last for a long time. There are couples, thinking it will be just one or two months until success, who find out two or three years later that this is not the case. In fact, the more cycles and the more drugs the patient takes the harder it becomes to get pregnant. There is a simple explanation to this phenomenon: when the woman’s body becomes weaker and sicker it becomes more difficult to conceive. So when is it enough fertility drugs? Could a woman take fertility drugs indefinitely without a negative impact on her fertility? The answer is NO! Fertility drugs and IVF cycles do have a place in the world of infertility treatment. Women with blocked fallopian tubes, uterus physical deformities and other such difficult infertility causes may not have the ability to conceive without IVF. However, when it comes to fertility drugs hormonal manipulation, invasive surgeries and interventions some common sense is due. It is not ‘the more the better’. A well planned strategy will go a long way helping couples optimize their success chances. The first and foremost step is to become healthier and stronger trying to conceive naturally. Do not resort to drugs and surgeries as a first course of action; these do not come without cost to your health and conception chances. Becoming healthier involves more than just eating organic food or taking a specific food supplement. It involves a complete and thorough lifestyle change that yields a stronger healthier YOU! You can follow our articles about this topic: Increase Your Fertility in Three Easy Steps http://www.hunyuancenter.com/blog/increase-your-fertility-with-three-easy-steps Infertility Treatments, Past, Present and Future http://www.hunyuancenter.com/blog/infertility-treatments-past-present-and-future Male Infertility Self Help Exercises http://www.hunyuancenter.com/blog/male-infertility-self-help-exercise Emotional Stress and Infertility http://www.hunyuancenter.com/blog/emotional-stress-and-infertility The second step involves Hunyuan herbal medicine and acupuncture to increase your egg pivot and quality. These measures are still within the scope of natural conception. The herbal formulas and acupuncture as well as the Hunyuan Xinfa Heart Method help the couple, both man and woman, to become healthier, stronger and more fertile. Conception then happens naturally without physical egg and sperm intervention such as in IVF. By this point, many couples are already pregnant or very close to being able to get pregnant. The third step, if one is not pregnant yet, will be to think about modern ART (Advance Reproductive Technologies) and IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) or even fertility drugs. This is the time when, without a better option, the couple must consider a more aggressive intervention. But, how much drugs is enough? According to Hunyuan medicine less drugs and less intervention is better. Especially, if the patient has received Hunyuan herbal formulas already, this often means that the patient might be very close to being able to conceive and a minor intervention will suffice. Many IVF clinics opt for “the big guns first”, but this is a clear mistake. With less manipulation and intervention the woman’s body stands the best chance for conception. A woman should 1. Believe in herself and her body, and 2. Optimize her chances by becoming stronger. The “big guns” of modern reproductive medicine do not allow the woman’s body to become stronger, nor do they encourage her to believe in herself. There are IVF clinics using minimally invasive procedures and minimum amounts of drugs and even no drugs at all. These clinics often find it difficult to keep up with the IVF clinics competition and “statistics wars,” because no-drugs IVF (some even call it ‘natural IVF’, off course IVF is not natural with or without drugs) has a smaller success rate per IVF cycle than medicated IVF cycles. These no-drug IVF clinics often also accept older patients, who have been rejected by the standard full-drugs IVF clinics, which make their success rates even lower. Success rates aside, it is a long term better strategy to begin the modern fertility treatment path with less drugs and less surgeries. A common mistake couples do after visiting an IVF clinic is allowing themselves to be pushed into a corner, believing that there is no other alternative except using the “big guns” of IVF first. This is not a good strategy! It puts all the eggs in one basket and if this does not work, future pregnancy prospects are often diminished. So in sum, when are fertility drugs enough?

Increase your fertility is on the mind of many couples struggling to conceive. At times, there are physical causes such as blocked fallopian tubes, endometriosis, PCOS (Polycystic ovarian syndrome), thin uterus lining, hormonal imbalance, cervical deformities and others. These obstruct the conception process physically. Circa 45% of all infertility cases are without such physical causes, and these are often categorized as ‘unexplained infertility’. For both groups, physical and non-physical causes of infertility, there is one thing in common; the body’s health has deteriorated. Infertility cannot take place when a man and a woman are in their reproductive years and are healthy. The problem begins with the modern medicine concept that the human body is composed of compartments, and therefore one could be perfectly healthy except that in one compartment he or she is sick. In other words, one can be healthy and infertile at the same time. Only the sperm or the egg is unhealthy, but the rest of the body is healthy, such as with unexplained infertility. Even with physical causes of infertility, such as endometriosis and PCOS, there is a talk that the disease is “here” but the rest of the body is actually A ok. So how is it possible that one compartment is sick but the rest of the body is healthy? The error lies with the belief that a living human body is composed of different and independent systems, organs and body parts that have no unified principle. Even if they have a common purpose, such as to keep that person alive, yet they can function independently of the other. In such a scenario, the ovaries can be sick but the heart doesn’t have to be sick. This approach has its appeal to the modern mind because it makes the problem small, i.e. it is just over “here”. However, if one contemplates this a bit further, one realizes that the human living body does have a unifying principle and a cohesive integrated purpose. Every human being has the same physical systems, organs and body parts and with it the same unified purpose. Every part in the human body must be there for this same purpose that all human beings share. This common purpose is defined as ‘survival’. However, in addition and preceding this survival, there is a principle for the unfolding of life called ‘harmony’. The reason that there is a survival ability to the human being is because there is harmony. The teeth are biting but they don’t bite the tongue, the stomach digesting but it does not digest the stomach lining, the person sleeps but they wake up when the sun comes out. Everything works harmoniously. This is the principle by which a person lives. Health means that everything is working on time and in harmony and this warrants survival. When all the systems and organs work in the body this means survival of the person and the species. It means it allows for an ability to create a future generation. Becoming more fertile is not limited to a small compartment of the body, but rather to the entire health of the body and to its harmony. In modern day fast-paced-information there exist advices how to increase your fertility in as few as one step and as many as twenty one steps, but these are often limited to external advice, such as stop smoking, fertility boosting foods, watch your diet and weight, stop drinking wine and coffee, have frequent sex, time your ovulation and even choose a position for intercourse that may allow the sperm to travel toward the ovary. In reality, these and many other advices do not help increase the health of the patient or their overall fertility. They simply cater to the (false) hope that maybe the problem is not with them but rather with a small compartment, the coffee or wine or other habit. Is there really a problem with moderate consumption of, modern day culprits, wine and coffee? The answer is no. Food stuff, of good quality and consumed in moderation, contains very little if any impact on fertility. Off course, excessive consumption and addictions of any sort to any substance poses a health and fertility hazard. In as much as diet is concerned using a common sense approach is best. Consume food moderately and avoid modern artificial chemicals, preservatives and additives. This is an obvious good choice. A cup of coffee or tea in the morning, if you so choose, and an occasional glass of wine with dinner will have no impact on your fertility. When a man and a woman want to regain their fertility they need to recover their health and must act upon it consistently and with perseverance. In this post Dr. Yaron Seidman, founder of Hunyuan Medicine and Fertility Method, gives his perspective and recommendations how to regain health and increase fertility with three easy steps:

Infertility treatments include a variety of techniques and technologies. The treatment of infertility can be divided into the following categories: Fertility drugs, surgical treatments and assisted conception.
There is, however, another approach that is emerging amongst many couples hoping to conceive. Technology is indeed impressive but, today, many people look back to nature. Many are weary of “advancements” with uncertain and experimental future. For some there is a sense of comfort when they act and react in a way that lasted many generations, in a way that is predictable. In a word, many still hope to get pregnant simply by having intercourse with their partner without intervention in the natural process. It is true, we need new solutions to new problems, but how do we find these solutions? There are really two possibilities, the first is to find new solutions that the human mind invents, the second is to discover solutions that are already there in the workings of nature, but are in the past and maybe the present still beyond our ability to recognize them. The second option does not ask for new inventions, which are outside the way of nature. The second option looks for new solutions by discovering the things that are already there. Off course, the biggest “flaw” of the second option is that you cannot patent it and then profit from it. If it is there in nature it cannot be your invention. The infertility treatments of the future are with discovering what the human body can do, when and how it can recover its natural ability. These future infertility treatments discover how fertility can increase naturally. It is the most cutting edge advancement possible. Imagine! An infertile patient becomes fertile with almost no intervention. This is an entirely new paradigm. Hunyuan medicine strives to advance in this direction. The “technology” revolves around practitioners who contemplate in their hearts the meaning of life and the meaning of creating a new life. The advancement happens by understanding gradually deeper what does nature has in place already. For example, how is life carried from the woman into the egg? How does the life in the egg changes when it meets a sperm? These questions are not about inventing something new, but rather understanding what is already there but still unknown. Naturally, modern fertility bio-technology companies ask these questions too, but they always have the goal of inventing something new, something that they can patent. This is, possibly, why they may look around it but can’t find it. The secret is with finding what is already there, and not with inventing something that is not yet there. Hunyuan medicine talks about the life in the egg and the sperm and calls it a Pivot; the female unification energy carried from the mother into the egg, and the male separation energy carried from the father into the sperm. Hunyuan medicine realizes that finding more about this Pivot means finding what is already there. To solve the problem one must realize first what is the problem. The wheel does not need to be invented; it just needs to be discovered. Technology is excellent but nature is superior. Couples who find difficulty with conceiving often feel that “naturally” didn’t work. The truth is that nature needs yet to be discovered. The principle by which nature performs optimally and harmoniously is not always apparent. There are many theories how one should live their life, but there is only one way that it will work harmoniously resulting with the longest possible life. The same is with fertility. There are many theories and they often fluctuate with the times as customs and technology changes, but there is only one way how nature will perform its best and create the most fertility for a man and a woman. Tapping into this specific point is the fertility medicine of the future. Hunyuan medicine is at this fertility forefront. The next blog will discuss ‘how to improve my egg Pivot?’ as an adjunct to infertility treatment. Death is always a surprise. No one expects it. Not even terminal patients think they are going to die in a day or two. In a week, maybe. But only when this particular week is the next week. We are never ready. It is never the right time. By the time it comes, you will not have done all the things that we wanted to. The end always comes as a surprise, and it’s a tearful moment for widows and a bore for the children who don’t really understand what a funeral is (thank God). Read the rest of the story here #Male #Infertility #Self #Help
According to the CDC (Center for Disease Control) study, which analyzed data from the 2002 National Survey of Family Growth in the USA, 7.5% of all sexually active men younger than age 45 reported seeing a fertility doctor during their lifetime, which translates to 3.3 million men suffering male infertility. From these 3.3 million men, 18% (594,000) were diagnosed with a male-related infertility problem, including sperm or semen problems (14%) and varicocele (4%). It is clear that male factor infertility is a significant cause for many couples having difficulty to conceive. As far as modern reproductive medicine is aware of and according to the Mayo Clinic the causes for male factor infertility are varicocele, infection, ejaculation issues, antibodies that attack sperm, tumors, undescended testicles, hormone imbalances, sperm duct defects, chromosome defects, celiac disease, certain medications and prior surgeries. Western medicine Male factor infertility treatment includes surgeries for varicocele or extraction of sperm, drugs such as antibiotics and steroids and hormone replacement therapy. These are often not without side effects or long term negative effects. Hunyuan Medicine looks at male factor infertility and sperm quality differently. In order to conceive successfully the male’s sperm needs to be healthy. However, what defines ‘healthy’? Depending on one’s vantage point the concept of ‘health’ is defined differently. Hunyuan medicine recognizes that a person has a physical body but he/she also has life-energy. The male’s sperm follows this principle too, it has a physical body but it also has life-energy. If a sperm is dead, even though it may have chromosomes and genes, it does not have any good or bad quality to talk about. So what is this quality that sperm needs in order to be healthy, in order to fertilize an egg successfully? Hunyuan medicine calls this a ‘Male Pivot’. A male pivot is the foundational energy that allows separation to take place, the separation pivot. The separation pivot, even though cannot be measure yet with current technology, is immediately seen by the separation action of the sperm. Designed by nature, a sperm is destined to be ejaculated by the body to the outside world. This is opposite the female egg that by nature is designed to remain within the female body. A sperm enters into the egg and from there its male pivot creates a separation momentum, the cells can now divide. This pivot, or energetical code, is carried by the sperm into the female egg. Hunyuan medicine realizes that focusing only on the physical aspect of the sperm and the male reproductive organs can yield only partial results when it comes to treatment and recovery of male factor infertility. The sperm is not a mere dead physical tissue but it also carries Pivot with it. In most cases, it is a good strategy to consult a Hunyuan medicine practitioner and receive proper herbal care. In this article, a self-help exercise is recommended that will complement the Hunyuan treatment. Hunyuan medicine recognizes that the Pivot in the sperm arrives from the heart-fire-separation instrument. It is not locally derived from the testicles or produced by them. Therefore the local efforts modern reproductive medicine promotes, if it is extracting sperm from the testes or varicocele surgery, do not answer to the Pivot deficiency. Separation male energy is derived from the heart. Dr. Yaron Seidman D.A.O.M., founder of Hunyuan medicine, recommends here a Hunyuan Qigong exercise called ‘open the sun and close the moon’. It is a Qigong exercise to invigorate one’s heart fire. This exercise can be done sitting, standing or lying down. The person should wear loose fitting comfortable cloths and practice at the park or with an open window with plenty fresh air. Place both hands over your chest, covering your heart, the left hand covering the right hand. Close your eyes until they are half shut and focus your gaze inward, as if trying to look into your heart. Your intention should focus on your heart and your ears should listen to your heart. Then very gently and slowly inhale through your nose while your mouth is closed. When you inhale spread your hands to left and right, the left palm covers your left nipple, your right palm covers your right nipple. Next, open slightly your mouth and exhale through the mouth, push both hands back to the original position covering each other and the heart. After exhaling breath in and out naturally three times without moving your hands, and then inhale spreading both hands to cover nipples and exhale pushing them back to cover the heart. Breath natural three times without moving your hands and one inhale-exhale with spreading the hands and covering the heart again. Ten times spreading hands and covering heart counts as one set. Practice three times per day 1-3 sets each time. Precautions: Never force or strain, breath calmly and naturally. At the end of a set you should feel very calm and sleepy. If to the contrary you feel agitated or anxious do not practice anymore. While opening hands and covering nipples and when sliding hands back to cover the heart, both palms are facing the chest and rubbing back and forth the chest extremely gently. Do not rub heavily or cause pain. If you have health concerns, always consult your physician first, before embarking on this or any other exercise program. http://hunyuancenter.com/blog Male infertility self help Resources: http://hunyuancenter.com http://chineseclassics.org/HunyuanCultivation.html http://www.tcm-edu.gr/home.html http://www.cdc.gov/reproductivehealth/infertility/#c http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/male-infertility/basics/causes/con-20033113 http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/healthlibrary/conditions/mens_health/male_factor_infertility_85,P01484/ http://www.wikihow.com/Increase-Your-Ejaculate #Endometriosis #Infertility #Fallopian #Tubes
Endometriosis happens when tissue resembling the uterus lining (endometrium) grows outside of the uterus on other organs such the uterus outer walls, ovaries, fallopian tubes and intestines. This tissue may create adhesions (scar tissue) and cause much pain, especially during the menses, but also at other times. Dr. Karol Chacho M.D., an expert on Endometriosis, explains that the causes for endometriosis are:
Chacho also recommends the following lifestyle changes: “An overall healthy life style is recommended. Watching your weight, eating a healthy diet and getting exercise all improve your immune system. There are no specific foods or diets that have been proven to be helpful.” Hunyuan medicine investigates disease by assessing the ‘on-time’ unfolding of the separation-unification action of the body’s life-energy. When a person wakes up it is called separation and when a person goes to sleep this is called unification. This simple description demonstrates a cyclical motion, a motion that repeats itself over and over. Indeed, the human body works in a cyclical fashion. The actions the human body takes are repetitive. In the same way, ovulation is a cyclical event and menses, too, is a cyclical event. The growing and shedding of uterus lining is a cyclical event. Dr. Yaron Seidman D.A.O.M., Hunyuan medicine founder, asserts that dealing with endometriosis means dealing with a problem relating to the cyclical action of the uterus lining. This is a unique approach to endometriosis that brings a great promise. According to Seidman, instead of looking at endometriosis as a localized and physical problem, it should be viewed as a timing cyclical problem. More specifically, this cyclical problem is derived from a Jue Yin disharmony. Jue Yin or Concealed Separation Outward is the first of three steps composing the separation process in the human life-energy. In this step of separation there is a constant calculation of how much and how fast should separation take place in the next minute, next hour or next day. Jue Yin constantly calculates the speed of separation. When this calculation goes astray the separation speed goes erroneous and endometrium like tissue can grow outside the uterus. This Jue Yin calculation problem often ties together with the person’s recharging ability and the Pivot in the ovum. In other words, the same Jue Yin disharmony may lead to a poor egg quality and hence to infertility. By only removing the endometriosis tissue and not harmonizing the Jue Yin function, it may not improve the underlying disharmony, the endometriosis may reappear and it does not solve the poor egg quality. If only the physical tissue is addressed, infertility does not resolve. Physical obstruction, such as endometriosis, is one cause for infertility, but other causes such as unification-separation disharmony must be considered. Dr. Seidman explains that while Hunyuan medicine falls short on removing the physical endometriosis compared to surgery, yet it excels with harmonizing the unification-separation energetics, which help resolve the underlying cause and increase egg quality. This impacts the root of endometriosis. http://hunyuancenter.com/blog Resources: http://www.hunyuancenter.com/about http://fertilityspecialistdoctor.com/ http://www.endometriosisassn.org/endo.html http://www.reproductivefacts.org/FACTSHEET_Endometriosis_Does_It_Cause_Infertility/ #TTC #Hope #Conception #Can #Happen
I practice Hunyuan Fertility Medicine. I use herbs, acupuncture and heart method to help couples get pregnant. I also have friends, IVF doctors, who help couples conceive by using drugs, surgeries and modern technologies. The methods and medical principles are different but they both belong to this worldly realm. Today, however, I want to share a different kind of a story. A patient TTC from age 40 to 46 but nothing ever worked. Many IVFs, herbs, acupuncture, donor egg cycles, ART with and without herbs, with and without acupuncture. There were many tears and desperate moments and I could only do my best to support her over the years. Alas, at the end my recommendation was to cultivate and turn the heart to become good. Liu Yuan of the Huai Xuan school said it already two hundred years ago, “if your heart turns good then the spirit in heaven is moved, it protects you, it nurtures you and gives you good fortune.” The patient finally conceived naturally without any help, now at age 47. No one really knows what happens in the depth of the heart or in heaven, but I trust it is because her heart finally changed. I want to share this letter I received yesterday (with the patient’s permission). If you can circulate this letter to other women who are trying to conceive, I believe, for every hundred women who read and internalize the message of this letter, six or seven will get pregnant naturally, on their own. This is a letter of hope for everyone who is having difficulty to conceive. Hi Dr. Seidman! I hope all is well with you and the family. I have not talked to you in a little while and wanted to give you an update. You know I had two donor embryo transfers in late 2014 and both failed. In January, I became very sick with gallbladder disease and had surgery to remove my gallbladder in February. My periods seem to be a bit off since the surgery and painkillers etc. or maybe the start of menopause. After my gallbladder surgery recovery, I started to think about another donor embryo cycle, although I said in 2014 that this would be the final attempt at motherhood and was coming to terms with that. I was thinking that there will still be great things to accomplish in life without having children. So I was kind of going back and forth, leave things as they are or should I ask the doctor again why it failed. I ended up going back to the doctor in April and he did yet another hysteroscopy to check the uterus. The doctor said that all looks good and he just chalked it up to be that it’s a 50/50 chance of success with a donor. He offered me a discount if I wanted to do another cycle, so we left the office thinking we would give it another try. Our final try! I was thinking I would do the transfer in July or so. After the hysteroscopy, I got light spotting and then got a full period within 2 days. I was not due for 2 more weeks or so. They said that it is normal after that procedure. Then in May, my period was delayed again, I did not obsess about it. Perhaps menopause starting? Still a few more days elapsed and nothing. I really did not know exactly when my last period was because of the bleeding after the hysteroscopy. Is this menopause or what? I could not be pregnant because I was 46 and not trying since that is pretty impossible. I had one last pregnancy test kit that was over a year old and expired, but I still took it. It looked to be positive? How strange, it’s Mother’s day and this is a really bad joke. I knew the test was way past the expiration date, so it must have been an error. I went about my day celebrating mother’s day with family. I really did not think much of it that day. That night I decided to get a new pregnancy test kit. I took it and that showed positive. Now my heart was beating real fast. It not only showed positive, but it was one of those tests that measures high and low levels of HCG. It was high HCG. I called the doctor on Monday and they confirmed. So now they wanted to do ultrasound. As you well know I was not jumping for joy, my past experiences were not good. The doctor confirmed that the sac was present, but they thought it should be bigger. But then again I was not certain the date of my last period. I already knew the story of how these ultrasounds go, with the size not progressing as it should etc. They wanted me to come back in a week. I was trying to stay positive, but as you know, I have been down this excruciating path before many times and always ending in tragedy of miscarriage and other bad news. I told them I will come back for ultrasound only when they will be sure to see a heartbeat etc. So I decided to go back at 8 weeks. They confirmed baby was there! A miracle! I am now going on 16 weeks. They already did cell free dna testing, which I was terrified of the results as YYY and I are both 47 at this point! The testing came back with great results! A miracle. I am doing well. Just starting to relax a bit and starting to enjoy this without being consumed with worry. I just had to share this miraculous news with you. 47 and pregnant, naturally! I still can’t believe it and from what I read, science can’t believe it either. I hope and pray all goes smoothly. I feel incredibly blessed! I know it’s a long story here, but I wanted to share it all with you….it’s so strange, how things can turn out.
